Art Deco 2015
Tuesday November 03, 2015 KKDC New Zealand were proud sponsors of the Art Dego 2015 event as part of the Art Week in Auckland.
To show our continuing support of arts and culture a custom built backlit dinner plate was designed and manufactured for an art, food collaboration held at the prestigious Auckland Art Gallery.
With a tight timeline of two and a half weeks KKDC worked closely with Nick Gledhill at Axia Design to produce the 110 plates needed for the event.
The plates were assembled using a stainless gear tray to house the Duo Luna Module and 12v Battery, the top and bottom were produced out of machined acrylic. The main body of the plate was produced by laser cutting 200mm aluminium tube finished with a textured powder-coat finish.
To the delight of all attending the plates were activated by a push button when placed on the table, this created an element of surprise and a perfect atmosphere for the evening.
We would like to thank Nick Gledhill at Axia Design for his support in the production of the plates.
